Hello to 2008

Hello from crystalbleu 2008

Hello and welcome as we begin the 2nd quarter of 2008. We have started the year running with projects and events all exciting and new. While we have always had some sort of iron burning in the fire, we have been inspired to color outside of the box. Newly, we have taken on more management in an effort to expand our awareness, understanding and realization of this world of surrender and submission. Increased activities and increased membership have fostered good cause for us to remain focused on our purpose and level of commitment.

What is our core mission? Simply, we wish to inform, provide camaraderie and offer support to those seeking a submissive reality. Most people find support groups to be very helpful. A support group should be a safe and confidential place. A place where you can come to know that you are not the only one with a submissive interest. No one will say, "you wanna do what?" It is a place to find encouragement from other submissives who are working to resolve the same uncertainties you are, and to help reduce feelings of being alone, different, and/or isolated. Submissive Voice wants to provide a safe, harmonious environment where people can openly discuss their BDSM struggles; learn from the experiences of others who have gone through similar struggles; bond with a group of submissives who are genuinely interested; and know you have friends who are regularly cheering for you, available to you, and excited for you. The Submissive Voice emphasizes dialogue as a way of learning to openly and clearly deal with issues relating to BDSM attractions. As you listen to each other, perhaps for the first time you will listen to yourself. The typical newcomer sits and listens, and about half way through the discussion realizes s/he has finally found people who think and feel like s/he does. When s/he recognizes that s/he is safe and can trust the group, s/he begins to open up and the learning process of sharing begins. S/He discovers that even when others know all about him/her, there is still acceptance. Once the fear of rejection is gone, s/he finds that s/he has the courage to relate to others in the group and eventually to others outside the group. Submissive Voice can help you by providing:

  • a safe environment where you can face your problems.
  • feedback, insight, and practical ideas from like-minded people who have experienced the same things you experience.
  • a place to begin to build healthy relationships with other submissives.
  • interpersonal experiences in validation, familiarity, and camaraderie.
  • direction, vision, goals, and encouragement to continue when it is difficult.
  • accountability for your actions.
  • positive experiences to offset the effects of vanilla pressures.
  • reduction of your sense of isolation.
  • understanding, empathy, and acceptance from other submissives.
  • encouragement to continue through what cam soon become the best time of your life.
Allow me to now invite or re-invite you to The Submissive Voice; A place to hang your hat and settle in your thoughts comfortably. Listen and accept, speak and enlighten, share and care. Decorate your support group with framed inspiration and bring spark to your imagination. Nourish your intellect and feed your spirit. Just like the song sings,

A quote for 2008? This is what I found:

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

"Where Everybody Knows Your Name"by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo
